WHY ZEBRAS DON’T GET ULCERS

BOOK REVIEW  INSTRUCTIONS

BOOK REVIEWS …These assignments will take the form of a formal academic book review.  Students may write a review of a book as a whole, or of a particular section, depending on the nature of the book.
Keep in mind that a book review is not merely a summary of a book or any of its sub-sections. Rather, an academic book review provides a critical assessment of a book’s specific content, and also uses this assessment to convey related insights that speak to general considerations in the field of Human Biology.  As an example, see the following published review of the first book the class will read (WHY ZEBRAS DON’T GET ULCERS); other examples will be posted on Blackboard.

When and in what formats the Book Review assignments are DUE:  Each student will write a 3-5 page formal review of each book that the class reads and discusses over the course of the semester.  Each Book Review must be: (1) Uploaded to Blackboard no later than 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of class, and (2) Handed in as a hard-copy at the beginning of class.
